Elon Musk, CEO and product architect of electric vehicle company Tesla Motors Inc., has announced that electric, heavy-duty trucks, and high passenger-density urban transport are “in the early stages of development at Tesla and should be ready for unveiling next year.”
Unveiling what he called his latest “master plan” for Tesla Motors via his blog on the company’s website, Musk wrote “In addition to consumer vehicles, there are two other types of electric vehicle needed: heavy-duty trucks and high passenger-density urban transport.”
The Tesla chief executive said these new developments would include solar roofs, trucks and cars and as if that isn’t enough they will also “Enable your car to make money for you when you aren’t using it”
