The Image team will represent the association and bring awareness to causes affecting women in the trucking industry as part of its mission to promote women’s accomplishments and minimize obstacles faced by women working in the trucking industry.
According to the Association’s website (http://womenintrucking.org/imageteam/), which sought entries through January 31, 2016, duties of the Image Team, to be made up of articulate, safety-conscious women, will include:
- Professionals who talk positively and honestly about what they know
- Attend at least one major truck show per year (this requirement is flexible)
- Write articles from their professional point of view about Women In Trucking
- Be available for media interviews
- Attend conference calls or webinars as needed
- Position on Image Team will be long-term with the opportunity to be called upon for assignments at any time
- Mentor new Image Team members
Any female holding a professional position within the trucking industry was encouraged to apply (i.e. drivers, technicians, dispatchers, etc.)
The top ten qualifying applications will participate in a selection interview in February. The 2016 Image Team will be announced at the Salute to Women Behind the Wheel event at the Mid-America Trucking Show in April.
